S463 | 3233 | Bradley

The honors course S463 will cover the same general collection of topics as
the regular course M463: Axioms of Probability; conditional probability
and independence; random variables, distribution functions, expected
values, variances and standard deviations, co-variances and correlations;
important discrete and continuous distributions; multivariate
distributions; and basic limit laws such as the central limit theorem. In
comparison with M463, the honors course S463 will involve homework
problems of greater depth, and more emphasis will be placed on proofs. The
textbook in S463 will be the one by Sheldon Ross, A First Course in
Probability.
