**E113 classes are taught in the billiards room at the Indiana Memorial
Union
**E113 requires a special fee of $30.00 which must be paid at the IMU
facility
by the second week of classes
CLASS MEETING:
Two 50 minute periods per week
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Instruction in basic skills, including bridge forming, stroke techniques,
bank shots,
and cue ball spin.
COURSE OUTLINE:
Unit 1. Cue selection, grip, stance, and bridges.
Unit 2. Shot-making (follow, draw, and stop), cuing, hitting the object ball
(including shot-making games).
Unit 3. Introduction to 8-ball rules and tournament. Introduction to 9-ball
rules and tournament.
Unit 4. Other games and tournaments depending on class progress; skills
testing.
ATTENDANCE:
Students are allowed a maximum of three (3) absences. Upon a fourth
absence, a student has 3 options:
1) receive a grade of F;
2) officially withdraw from the class;
3) follow an appeal procedure with the instructor and/or the Elective
Program
Coordinator.
GRADING PROCEDURES:
The final grade in E113 Billiards will be calculated based on the student's
performance on skill proficiency tests (70%) and a written knowledge test
(30%).
