COURSE DESCRIPTION AND OBJECTIVES:
Structural kinesiology is designed for undergraduate students in teacher
preparation in physical education. The basic and most essential facts of
human structure, funciton, and movement problems will be considered.
Lectures will deal primarily with the structure and function of the skeleton
and joints. Laboratory sessions will focus more on the muscle structure and
function. Applications will be made to human movement in sport, physical
education, and daily activities. The objective of this course is to provide
an anatomical foundation for the understanding and analysis of human
movement, specifically applied to coaching and teaching situations. The
students are to be able to:
1. State the general function of each complex of the body.

6. Distinguish connective tissue structures associated
with each joint.

Attendance is mandatory and will be taken daily. Bonus points for
consistent class attendance can be earned based on meeting the criteria
