Whitewater Kayaking

This course is offered through the IMU Outfitters.  Course meets Oct. 7th
(in classroom) and Oct. 15-17 at Nantahala River in Bryson City, NC.

Description: American Canoe Association Flatwater and Moving Water.  Course
outline which includes paddling skills, boat placement and maneuvers, river
safety, and river rescue.

Required Book List: ACA materials provided.

Summary of Assignments: 1.) Journal of daily experiences and frustrations,
2.) Three-page paper on what students learned, 3.) ACA checklist for both
flatwater and moving water certificate, and 4.) 20-question written test.

Additional Information: This course is limited to 6 students.  Additional
fee will be required.
