Recreation Activity/Leadership Methods

Description: The focus of this course is the analysis of leadership
theories, techniques, problem solving, methods and styles in the planning
and delivery of recreation activities.
The class will focus on skills for solving problems through case studies and
relevant exercises. Students will develop and lead group activities
including: program goals and objectives, group analysis and evaluation.
Finally, emphasis will be placed on group dynamics and management techniques
for team building.
Course Objectives: To provide students with programming and leadership
competencies in different areas.
Summary of Assignments: Exams, Friday discussions, field experience/article
critique, special event and class participation.
