Introduction to the Hindi language through its writing system and basic
grammar.  Graded exercises, readings and conversation practice build
competence in Hindi.  In addition to the textbook students use elementary
readers designed for use in Indian schools.  Language lab materials and
Hindi films supplement the course. Meets with I101.
