An introduction to Zulu, also known as IsiZulu, or Xhosa.

Zulu, which is one of the predominant languages of South Africa (spoken by approximately 7 million people throughout all nine provinces of South Africa), is a Bantu language very similar to Swahili. The study of Zulu provides an introduction not only to one of the major languages of Southern Africa, but also to an extensive traditional and modern literature, and to Bantu culture in general.

Xhosa speakers today form the largest Bantu language group in South Africa. Xhosa is spoken on the Eastern Cape and in the old Cape province. Through contact with the Khoisan peoples, Xhosa has acquired "click" sounds.

Basic grammatical structures and vocabulary, emphasis on the spoken language.
