This is a course in Elementary Hebrew. No previous knowledge of Hebrew is required. The course
concentrates on the teaching of modern Israeli Hebrew on an elementary level. All language skills - reading,
writing, speaking, grammar, vocabulary, and composition - are equally emphasized. Weekly assignments will
include one lesson from Israeli Hebrew plus review, drills and conversation sessions. Grading is based on
results of quizzes, mid-terms, and a final exam, plus daily participation in the class and handling of class
conversation sessions, and lab assignments.
