"We can believe the truth about ourselves" - Derek Parfit

Let's see about that.  This course is about the relations between skepticism and
the self (self-knowledge, personal identity and self-interest).  Among those we
shall read are Montaigne, Descartes, Hume and Parfit.

Required work: short weekly assignments and three 3-5 page papers.
