R210 Introduction to the Hebrew Bible (3 Cr.) TR 9:30-10:45 BH 208
(section 3730)(Weitzman)

This course seeks to introduce the student to the religion of ancient
Israel, and to sharpen the student's ability to read the Bible, to
determine what it means and how it means it. Among the issues we will be
wrestling with: Who is God? What is the relationship between God and
humanity? What is the Bible? Why, how and where was it composed? How
can archaeology and ancient Near Eastern literature contribute to our
understanding of ancient Israel's religion and literature?
