This course provides a broad introduction to the logic of
sociological research and to sociological research methods.  We
will discuss general issues in research design (e.g.,
measurement, sampling) as well as specific data collection
techniques and approaches (e.g., survey research, ethnographic
research).  The course combines didactic and experiential
learning to offer insight into how sociologists do research.
