Social Work | HBSE II: Small Group Functioning
S322 | 8603 | Padgett

This course facilitates students' appreciation for the significance of group
experience and their understanding of the basic group phenomena and process.
In addition, the course is designed to enhance students' effectiveness for
group participation and leadership. The course activities include student
participation in a small group experience.

This course serves as a linkage between the HBSE I and HBSE III. It begins
with a discussion of the individual as a member of a variety of groups,
including the family. Then, other groups are discussed with a focus on the
internal dynamics of the small group. Finally, the course considers the
formal organization as a composite of groups.
