The purpose of this course is to acquaint you with the geography of Western Europe. The course is divided into background material and regional material. The background material provides the physical, historical, and cultural background to present-day Europe and a brief discussion of pan-European issues, while the regional portion provides an examination of Europe in a country-by-country fashion. The course text is:

In addition you will have a copy of the Encarta Virtual Globe. There will also be required readings which will be on reserve at the library.
