Course format: Lecture: 12:20P-1:10P, MWF, RH 100.

Requirements:  Two semesters of college level chemistry; Biol L211, M315,
the companion laboratory is strongly recommended concurrently.

Course description: An introduction to the biology of microorganisms with
emphasis on the significance of microbes for humans.

Required text:  "Biology of Microorganisms", Ninth Edition.

Weekly assignments: Reading of ca. 150 pp. in text; it is recommended that
these be completed before the corresponding lecture.

Exams/papers: Three midterm exams and one final.
