Course format: Seminar.

Requirements:  Open to graduates only.

Course description: Topic: Topics in Vertebrate Embryology. This course
will explore the current understanding of the molecular/cellular basis for
body patterning and organ formation during vertebrate embryology from fish
to humans.  Class format will primarily be student presentations of the
seminal literature and current primary literature of various topics in
vertebrate embryology.  Topics to be discussed include polarization of the
early embryo, gastrulation, neural induction, patterning and
differentiation, heart and skeletal muscle development, sex determination
and gonadogenesis.
