An historical survey of the major monuments and building
types of ancient Rome.  Emphasis on
the Augustan, Flavian, Trajanic, and Hadrianic eras.  Upon
completion of the course students can
expect to be able to “walk through” the ancient city both in
their minds and in the modern urban
fabric.  There will be quizzes, a midterm, and a final
examination.    []
