M308 will cover major Italian writers and literary movements from the 18th
century to the present.  In the course we will focus on individual authors
such as Goldoni, Foscolo, Leopardi, Manzoni, Carducci, Pascoli, Pirandello,
Ungaretti, and Montale.  In addition to the books adopted for this course
(which will be available at the I.U. Bookstore), additional reading materials
will be provided by the instructor.
