In this course we will analyze the poetic currents in Italy from WWII to
the present times.  Class will focus upon theoretical discussion of the
various lyric periods and trends, as well as upon individual poets such as
Luzi, Caproni, Pasolini, Sereni, Sanguineti, Magrelli, etc...  Much importance
will be given to class presentations, readings, and translation exercises.
Class will be in Italian. Requisites: One research paper; one book review;
oral presentation.
