This course explores the historical background, development to the present,
and projected future course of seven revolutions:
Globalization
The Biomedical Revolution
The Green Revolution
Rapid population growth
The Revolution in Technology and Information
The Aging Revolution
The inequality of nations
Grades will be based on four papers, class presentations, and contributions
to class conversations. Separate readings on each revolution; discussion of
those particular revolutions, and of the general problem of sudden and
extensive change.
