COURSE PREREQUISITES:  None

COURSE MEETING:
Two fifty minute meetings per week
		
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course is designed for the student with little or no experience of
training in Irish Step Dance.  The course will focus on the movement,
technique and style of Irish Step Dance, while exploring the history of
traditional Irish Step Dance, and comparing/contrasting it to progressive
Irish Step Dance.

ATTENDANCE:
Students are allowed a maximum of three (3) unexcused absences.  Upon a
fourth absence the student has three (3) options:
1.	Receive a grade of F;
2.	Officially withdraw from the course;
3.	Follow an appeal procedure through your instructor and/or the
Elective Program Coordinator.
ATTIRE:
Wear loose, comfortable clothing.

EXAMS:
Periodic informal, in-class performances based upon completion of a jig or
reel.  Not judged on technical ability, rather, effort and class
participation.

GRADING:
Letter graded, based on attendance, completion of written assignments, class
participation and performance exams.
