COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Beginning class in offering instruction in mechanics of skating, stride,
crossover, stopping,
backward skating. Also taught intermediate skills, hockey-stop, backward
crossovers, edge
control and turns as skill level determines.
CLASS MEETING:
2 seventy-five minute periods per week
EXAMS:
1 written exam, skills test
GRADING:
S/F Grading
FEE:
$70 payable to Frank Southern Center
ATTENDANCE:
Students are allowed a maximum of three (3) absences. Upon a fourth
absence, the student has
three (3) options:
1. Receive a grade of F;
2. Officially withdraw from the course;
3. Follow an appeal procedure through the instructor and/or the Elective
Program
Coordinator.
