One 50 minute period two times per week for entire semester
Sections 6374 and 6375 emphasis on water fitness
All sections meet at New Student Recreational Sports and Aquatic Center
To obtain and acquire a moderate to high level of aerobic capacity while
using the water,
equipment, and other useful techniques, skills, and/or ideas. Also, to
achieve one's desired goal
through fitness utilizing the water.
Only three (3) unexcused absences will be accepted!! Upon the fourth (4th)
you have three (3) options:
1. receive a grade of F;
2. officially withdraw from the course;
3. follow an appeal procedure through your instructor and/or the Elective
IF excused absences, student must show written notification from doctor's
office or the like, or if
an unfortunate mishap occurs, the student must notify the instructor as soon
as possible in writing.
(Instructor will make judgment calls when necessary on excused absences).
Men can only wear swim shorts and Women can only wear one-piece swimsuits.

Due to vigorous and aerobic activities, those individuals with any type of a
health concern, should
notify the instructor IMMEDIATELY before entering the water!!! NOTE: Those
having intolerable pre-menstrual cramps or the like and/or for their beliefs
restrict them from
participation in the water, should notify the instructor that day of class.
HOWEVER: You must
attend and observe class in the bleachers. (This is not an excused
GRADING POLICY: This class is graded by the following:
Attendance (5x29 days) 145 pts.
Coordination (5x10 pts) 50 pts.
Endurance (5x20 pts) 100 pts.
Lap Swimming (5x5 pts) 25 pts.
Execution of Technique (5x20 pts) 100 pts.
Execution of Routine(s) (5x15 pts) 75 pts.
