OBJECTIVES:
Each student will acquire knowledge and skills in the following areas:BL SPR99 F352/546 Fravel
Accident knowledge & safety awareness
Legal aspects pertaining to first aid and emergency care
Primary and secondary surveys including checking pulse, respiration, and blood pressure
Control of bleeding
Traumatic shock
Bandaging
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation , Mouth-to-Mouth Resuscitation, Conscious Obstructed
Airway, and Unconscious Obstructed Airway (Adult and Infant)
Common illnesses, injuries, and wounds
Drug and alcohol emergencies
Hyperthermia and Hypothermia
Poison emergencies
Skeletal and muscular injuries
Transporting victims

COURSE REQUIREMENTS:
REGULAR - PUNCTUAL ATTENDANCE AT ALL LECTURES AND LABS
Assigned readings
Examinations: 3 over Lecture/Readings and 2 Lab Skills Tests
Participation in lab activities
