COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The student to develop an approach towards learning about health which involves critical thinking and problem solving. This process will be carried out by expressing working hypotheses, collecting information to test these hypotheses, and making decisions which maximize mental, spiritual, physical, and social well-being. Based upon the information gathered and personal values, the student will generalize this approach to learning to other content areas throughout a lifetime.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:
Understand and analyze the hereditary and environmental factors that influence mental, social, and physical health.
Know actions to enhance mental, social and physical health.
Make responsible health choices within your personal value system.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS:
Attendance is required

FINAL GRADE:
3 Exams (150 points each) 450 points
Health Diary 200 points
Nutrition Diary 200 points
Abstract One Article 150 points
Total Points Possible: 1000 points
