OBJECTIVES:
Each student will acquire cognitive and practical knowledge/skills in the following areas:
Accident knowledge and safety awareness
Legal aspects pertaining to first aid and safety
Primary and secondary surveys
Assemble, maintain, and repair cardiopulmonary resuscitation equipment
Bandaging
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation, Mouth-to Mouth Resuscitation, Conscious
Obstructed Airway, and Unconscious Obstructed Airway (Adult and Infant)
Common illnesses, injuries, and wounds
Drug and alcohol emergencies
Emergency childbirth
Heat and cold emergencies
Poison emergencies
Shock and control of bleeding
Skeletal and muscular injuries
Transporting victims
Set up and use audio-visual equipment
Consult with and advise students
Prepare lesson plans and teach certain units

COURSE REQUIREMENTS:
REGULAR - PUNCTUAL ATTENDANCE AT ALL LECTURES AND LABS
Assigned readings
Examinations:
1 comprehensive written exam and 2 Laboratory Skill exams
Participation in lab activities
