PREREQUISITES:
P409, Physiology of Exercise or equivalent.  Course will satisfy:
Applied Sport Science major - selective/elective.  Others - elective with
approval of advisor.

CLASS MEETING:
Two 75 minute lectures two times per week

PURPOSE OF COURSE:
To provide an overview of corporate and wellness programs including the
justification, organization and implementation of structured exercise
programs.  The
course is focused to include many of the theoretical and practical
competencies for
the ACSM Health Fitness Instructor Certification.

COURSE GRADING:
The course grade will be based on 3 exams and 1 topic paper with possible
class report.  The tentative grade breakdown will be:  Exam #1 (approx.
23%),
Exam #2 (approx. 23%), final exam (approx. 33% with approx. 30 percent being
comprehensive), and topic paper (approx. 23%).  There may also be some
required pass/fail homework assignments.  Each student will be responsible
for
a topic report and possible oral presentation on a topical area approved by
the instructor.
