CLASS MEETING:
40 contact hours per week; 2 group meeting hours per month.
Section open to Pre/Rehab students only or permission or instructor

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The supervised application of exercise testing, exercise prescription,
exercise
leadership and/or program administration in the professional setting of
corporate
fitness, preventative medicine, sports medicine, and/or hospital based
rehabilitation.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
Cognitive - to apply previous knowledge of exercise testing, exercise
prescription, exercise leadership and program administration to a specific
internship site. Psychomotor - to administer exercise testing, patient
education,
and exercise leadership to a specific internship site. To prescribe
exercise in a
specific internship site. To assist the administration of a specific
internship site.
Affective - to develop a personal philosophy of the application of clinical
exercise
physiology. To appreciation human interaction in the attainment of personal
health
fitness.
GENERAL FOR ALL SETTINGS:
1) Exercise testing; 2) Laboratory data interpretation; 3) Exercise
prescription; 4)
Exercise leadership; and/or 5) Program administration.
EVALUATION PROCEDURES:
1) Presentation; 2) Internship site supervisor evaluation; 3) University
supervisor
evaluation.
