Description of course content: Emphasis will be on voice commands, belay
techniques, ice climbing technique and safety, anchor systems, ice axe
placement, and winter camping skills

Required book list: Mountaineering Freedom of the Hills by Graydon and
Hanson 6th Edition.

Summary of assignments: Written exam, practical skills in ice climbing,
active participation in winter camping, 4 page journal.
