Wildflowers and Wild Edibles

This class meets March 8-April 26 with a weekend at Bradford Woods (April
16-18).

Description:  This course covers the basics necessary for flower and edible
identification.  We also discuss wildflower folklore, wild edibles and their
uses, natural dyes, medicinal and poisonous plants.

Required Book List:
Peterson and McKinney.  A Field Guide To Wildflowers.
Peterson.  Eastern/Central North America: A Field Guide To Edible Wild
Plants.

Summary of Assignments:  Weekend at Bradford Woods, Group Project, Recipe
Book-using native natural ingredients, Natural Dye Cards-reference cards for
plants used as dye, Natural Expression-creative use of course information,
midterm and final.

Additional Information:  Food and lodging fee extra.
