An examination of the cellular bases of behavior emphasizing
Contemporary views and approaches to the study of the nervous system.
Neural structure, function, and organization are considered in relation to
sensory and motor function, motivation, learning, and other basic
behaviors. Emphasis is placed on the mechanisms by which the nervous
system regulates and controls development, sensory processes,
movement, motivated behaviors, learning, memory, language and cognition.
Students are introduced to the variety of brain structures and systems
involved in generating behavior, psychological processes, and
neuropsychological disorders.
