Title: Living Without a Body: Identity, Community, and Fantasy in Cyberspace

Cyberspace is an exciting, though sometimes confusing, new space to navigate through. What is particularly interesting is the way in which people can construct an identity, visit "virtual" places, and meet other people without the constraints of a physical body. By thinking about just such possibilities, this course will consider how our ideas about reality, community, identity, and desire become complicated and mixed-up inside, and then back outside, cyberspace. Technical skill and experience with cyberspace is neither required nor necessary for this class.
