F801 | 2259 | S. Dobly
Most assignments and discussion for this course will be conducted online.
The primary objectives of the course will be to examine and apply principles
of course design and select and evaluate materials available for courses in
folklore and ethnomusicology. All students will be required to prepare and
defend a course syllabus and reading list for a proposed course of their
choice and to lead an informed discussion of the place for that course or
similar courses in a chosen educational context. For students earning two
or three credits, additional work on syllabus preparation/course design,
curriculum, or research on educational applications of folklore or
ethnomusicology will be required.
