The course will begin with presentation of least squares and maximum
likelihood estimation.  Additional topics covered in this course will in
part be decided by students.  See the instructor as soon as possible to
suggest topic alternatives.  Requirements include a final exam and a paper
using original statistical research.  Students should have a data set of
interest to them at the beginning of the course.
