This class provides an in-depth survey of the German political
system. A variety of different aspects of political affairs in
Germany, including formal-legal institutions, the origins and role of
political parties, opportunities for citizens to participate in
politics, and Germany’s current political culture are covered.
Special attention is paid to the question of how well Germany's
democracy continues to function after experiencing several regime
changes. Requirements include a mid-term and final exam as well as a
term paper.
