C202 | 1037 | Solomon
This course will introduce students to a number of critical,
historical, and theoretical tools useful for understanding the new
media cultures of the twenty-first century. Drawing upon examples
from print journalism, broadcast and recorded sound, television,
cinema, and the internet, we will examine the rich diversity of media
production and consumption throughout the world. Issues for our
consideration include, but are not limited to, globalization,
nationalism, cultural and individual identities, and media reception.
