This course examines the multiple forms and functions of rhetoric as
well as the nature of criticism.  It focuses on the relationships
between and among rhetorical discourse, history, power, and the
popular imagination.  Various forms of criticism are explored
including those engaging speeches, films, and other visual images.
Students are expected to select and critique a rhetorical artifact
for their semester project
