Prerequisites: 4 courses from among Q240, Q250, Q260, Q270 and Q301.
Intended for junior and senior cognitive science majors.
The seminar will survey some fundamental issues in cognitive science,
especially as related to aspects of language: motor control,
perception, symbolic/computational vs. dynamical approach, artificial
life, consciousness, and other topics of interest to the students.
Students will make critical presentations of articles and conduct a
Textbook: "Mindware: An Introduction to the Philosophy of Cognitive
Science" by Andy Clark (Oxford Univ P, 2001).
