Cognitive Science | Math & Logic for Cognitive Science
Q520 | 0961 | Moss

1:25 - 2:15pm MWF BH215

This will a new graduate course, designed for our new Cognitive
Science PhD. It also will be suitable for students in other fields.
The textbook will be Mathematical Methods in Artificial Intelligence
by Edward A. Bender and published by the IEEE Computer Society. You
can get a good idea of the course contents by looking up the web page
for the book's table of contents. I'll also be using some of my own
notes for the logic-related material. My goals for the course are to
give students a good knowledge of a few topics of importance to
current cognitive science, and also the tools to learn the mathematics
behind the tools that they will need in their own research.
