(2 cr.) Seminar will be to work as a team with the instructors to map
the physical architecture of the Salem in a unique underground quarry
near Bedford, Indiana, and then to build a three-dimensioinal
wireframe model of the quarry using a laser transit, digital
photography, and a CAD program.  Other 3-D visualization techniques
will also be explored with IU's Advanced Visual Laboratory.  Students
will have 8 hours of Federal safety training and be required to spend
3 Saturdays mapping pillars and walls in the quarry.  Additional time
will be spent assisting in the writing and assembly of the results
which will be published in an IGS Guidebook and possibly an outside
paper.
