G375	Conversational German (2 cr.)
Prerequisite: G330 or equivalent with a grade of C- or better.

This course is designed to improve students' oral proficiency in
German and raise their understanding of German cultural values.
Students will be sensitized to differences between North American and
German culture through a broad exposure to German popular media
(video, the press, and popular literature). In-class activities will
include preparation and performance of skits and parodies of various
genres. To prepare for class, students will read a variety of texts,
watch assigned videos, and prepare their own audio tapes and other
material. At the end of the course, students should be better
prepared for studying or working in Germany, both from a linguistic
and cultural perspective.
