Gender Studies | Two Centuries of Feminist Thought
G290 | 2417 | Heather McDougall

This course provides an introduction to the "classical" historical and
contemporary texts of feminism. In the selection of texts and of
theorists - from both past and present - a focus is placed on criteria
by which feminist inquiries may be evaluated. This course investigates
the ways in which feminist thought is constructed and once formed, how
it is applied. Disputes among feminist theorists on the importance of
differences resulting from sexuality, race, class, ethnicity, and
other political and philosophical ties are central themes for
appraisal.
