This course examines the history of World War II, its causes,
developments, and consequences, and explores the significance and
implications of WW II in modern history. There are no prerequisites
for this class. The main readings are John Keegan’s The Second World
War, Richard Ovary’s Russia’s War, and Saburo Ienaga’s Pacific War.
The requirements include a final essay: the students may write on
any topic of his/her choice (in consultation with the instructor).
