OPEN TO UNDERGRADUATES ONLY

Come and explore the social forces which contribute to crime and our
perception of it.  Is it really so much worse today than in
yesteryears?  If so, how?  My interest is in the more extreme variety
of crimes, such as serial and mass murder, so I’ll warn you now that
there will be a fair amount of focus on these phenomena.  Plenty of
criminological theories will be considered, so don’t worry if this
would be your first sociology class.  Just bring your interest in the
subject matter and a willingness to read, discuss, and write, and
come join me, if you dare!
