Topic: Controlling Affect Interpersonally

This seminar focuses on the micro-sociology of affect and emotion.
In class sessions and papers, students survey literature on affect in
social interaction, examine theories that relate affect and social
processes, and examine methods for measuring affect and examining
social interaction. Each student will organize a seminar session and
will submit a course paper elaborating a specific interest related to
affect in social interaction.
