The goals of this course are: 1) to describe the course of language
development in children; 2) to understand the components of language
and how they develop in children; 3) to examine different theories
for explaining and researching language development; 4) to become
familiar with language disorders seen in children; 5) to identify
strategies for encouraging language development in both normal and
disordered children. The course is aimed at providing practical
information for the educational setting, as well as developing
students' skills in the theory and research underlying educational
practices.
