Requirements:  Two semesters of college chemistry; Biol M255
concurrently; L211 recommended prior or concurrently.

Course description: Application of fundamental principles to the study
of microorganisms. Significance of microorganisms to humans and their
environment.

Required text:  "Microbiology", fifth edition, by Prescott, Harley and
Klein.

Weekly assignments: Reading of ca. 150 pp. in text; it is recommended
that these be completed before the corresponding lecture.

Exams/papers: Three midterm exams, one final and graded assignments.
