Fine Arts | Age of Rubens & Rembrandt
A337 | 2055 | Unger

To this day we cherish the fame and glory of Rubens, Rembrandt, Vermeer,
Valesquez and Poussin. In this course we shall focus on the lives and
works of the most important artists of the Baroque period, traveling from
Italy and Spain through France to Flanders and The Netherlands, we will
explore the artists role in constituting what can be defined as the
Baroque spirit. The most outstanding quality about seventeenth century
art is that among prominent Italian artists such as Caravaggio and
Bernini, one can find non-Italian artists whose contribution to the
formation of the Baroque art is fundamental for understanding the period.
