Evaluation and expectations:
There will be a comprehensive final exam at the time listed in
the schedule of classes, one 50-minute exam and several quizzes,
including pop quizzes if necessary. (All assigned material is
eligible for quizzing.)
There will also be homework assignments, although the written
homework in S425 is not heavy. Students are nonetheless expected to
study between class meetings, and no one should think that the
material is too hard or the pace too fast if he or she is not studying
at least two hours in preparation for each class. Although some
people will not need that much preparation time, students should plan
for it until they see that they can make A's with less.
It should not be necessary to add that REGULAR and ATTENTIVE
ATTENDANCE AND PARTICIPATION ARE REQUIRED FOR SUCCESS IN THE COURSE.
Finally, students are expected to be familiar with and to abide by the
University's policies on academic honesty.

There will be no grade changes except in cases of clerical or
computational error. There will be no make-up quizzes or exams. Work
missed will lower your average, except that students with valid
reasons for missing an exam or quiz should discuss the matter with me.
