This course examines the history of World War II, its causes,
developments, and consequences, and explores the significance and
implications of WW II in modern history.  There are no prerequisites
for this class.  The main readings are John Keeganís "The Second
World War", Richard Ovaryís "Russiaís War", and John Dower, "War
Without Mercy".  The requirements include a final essay:  the
students may write on any topic of his/her choice (in consultation
with the instructor).
