CLASS TIME: January 15 and 22, 7:00-10:00pm in the IMU Redbud Tree Suite
(Attendance at both classes is required to attend travel dates)
TRAVEL DATES: January 24-26
LOCATION: Governor Dodge State Park, Wisconsin
DESCRIPTION: This course is designed to introduce you to the sport
and basic skills of ice climbing. R100 Ice Climbing is a highly
experiential course where you must engage in camp setting and
maintenance, genuine reflection, and new skill demonstration. You
will be evaluated on these dimensions, as well as your expedition
behavior.
BOOKS: How to Ice Climb, Craig Luebben
ASSIGNMENTS: Readings, short presentations, and a written exam
EVALUATION: 60% new skill acquisition, 30% written exam, 10% short
presentation
ADDITIONAL FEE: The additional fee for the class is $200.00 which
includes transportation, food, and group camping gear. You will sign
a bursar slip the first day of class to pay this fee.
